The Franchise Process

What does it take to get approved?

Submit your financial and background info. Once complete, approval often happens same-day.

How long does it take to open?

Typically 10–12 months from signing to opening, depending on location, site prep, and buildout.

What kind of training will I receive?

You’ll receive 60–90 days of hands-on training in an existing location, covering everything from staffing to operations to inventory.

Franchise Costs & Fees


Initial Franchise Fee:
$30,000 (first unit)
$20,000 (each additional unit under same ownership)
Royalty Fee:
6% of gross sales (paid weekly)
National Advertising Fee:
0.5% of gross sales (may increase to 3%)
Initial Investment Range (Estimated):
~$1.7M to $2.1M (varies by site and market)

While we don’t offer direct financing, we’ll support you with business plan resources and help you present to third-party lenders.

Definitely — multi-unit development is encouraged for qualified partners.

Our current focus is U.S. expansion — with locations actively opening in Georgia and Florida, and a long-term vision to grow beyond.

What’s the typical size of a Southern Roost?

Locations range from 4,000–5,000 sq. ft.

Who helps with equipment and design?

We do. You’ll receive a full equipment list, vendor contacts, and interior buildout specifications.

Will you help with site selection?

Absolutely — we’ll work closely with you to secure a location that meets our success criteria.

Staffing & Day-to-Day

Do I need to work in the restaurant?

Not required — but encouraged. You can hire a team to manage daily operations if you prefer.

How many employees will I need?

Most Southern Roost locations operate with 30–45 part-time and full-time team members.
